Imogen Heap – Hide And Seek w/ Lyrics

// February 3rd, 2010 // No Comments » // Blogging, I recommend, Music, Videos

Hide and Seek” is the first single by Imogen Heap from her album Speak for Yourself. The song is performed with the sole accompaniment being the sound produced by a harmonizer (a DigiTech Vocalist Workstation), creating an altered a cappella sound.

This song has an Interesting History.. More then one person has found some success with this cool song..

I first hear the Jason DeRulo’s 2009 single “Whatcha Say” version which prominently samples Imogen Heap’s song so I googled the Imogen version and now I even like her version better so if you havn’t hear it yet I highly recommend you listen to it and then tell me which one you like better… :)
The single topped the Billboard Hot 100. Heap is credited for the single.

Jason DeRulo’s 2009 single “Whatcha Say” prominently sampled Heap’s song. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100. Heap is credited for the single.

The track samples the Imogen Heap song “Hide And Seek”. In late August 2009, the song debuted at #54 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit #1 in November of 2009.

The single’s music video was released in September 2009; after the single became successful, Derülo began work on his debut album.

The single was certified gold by the RIAA on April 3, 2009.

The song was featured prominently in the second season finale of The O.C.. This was parodied in a 2007 Saturday Night Live Digital Short called The Shooting. In the short, characters cut each other’s sentences off by pulling out guns and shooting each other as the refrain plays over their slow-motion deaths. NBC was unable to upload the clip to YouTube immediately after the show because it hadn’t cleared the song, but fans uploaded it on their own, naming it “Dear Sister”. It became an Internet phenomenon, spawning a number of parodies in which scenes of real and fictional violence are punctuated with the refrain.

Heap arranged an alternate version of the song, labeled “Hide and Seek 2″, for the compilation album Songs for Tibet — The Art of Peace.

The song was also used in the films The Last Kiss and Warren Miller’s Off the Grid. It has also been featured in the series So You Think You Can Dance, Smith, The L Word, The Real World: Sydney, and CSI: Miami. The song has appeared in promotional spots for the television series Lost, Heroes, and the Norwegian version of Survivor.

The single was certified gold by the RIAA on April 3, 2009.

Imogen Heap – Hide And Seek Lyrics

Where are we?
What the hell is going on?
The dust has only just begun to fall
Crop circles in the carpet
Sinking feeling

Spin me around again and rub my eyes
This can’t be happening
When busy streets a mess with people
Would stop to hold their heads heavy

Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
All those years
They were here first

Oily marks appear on walls
Where pleasure moments hung before
The takeover, the sweeping insensitivity
Of this still life

Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
Blood and tears
They were here first

Mm what’cha say?
Mm, that you only meant well
Well of course you did

Mm what’cha say?
Mm that it’s all for the best
Of course it is

Mm what’cha say?
Mm that it’s just what we need
You decided this?

Mm what’cha say?
Mm what did you say?

Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
Mid-sweet-talk newspaper word cutouts (paper word cutouts)
Speak no feeling; no, I don’t believe you
You don’t care a bit
You don’t care a bit

Crying Sorority Girl Video

// May 20th, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Ibdreamy, Videos

Girl sobs in a car about setting off the fire alarm while her friend tries to control her own laughter.

One of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time!

“So many people do bad things, and I didn’t mean to”

“Maybe I’ll just sweep… I’LL SWEEP THE FLOOR!!”

“I just wanted to make it snow!”

**Back Story**
Apparently, she wanted to make the hallway appear that it had snow in it, so she decided to use a fire extinguisher (this is something that her dad has successfully done in the past). Instead of there just being a “little poof”, the entire hallway filled with chemicals that caused the fire alarm to go off in the middle of the night during finals week.

Now this is her in the car upset that everyone at Alpha Chi (the sorority she wants to be in and presumably those who live where the fire alarm went off) hates her. She explains how she isn’t a bad person and it was just an accident.

DeAnna Pappas dumps Jesse Csincsak & He cries on Youtube?!

// November 4th, 2008 // No Comments » // Celebrity, Celebrity Pictures, Funny, Videos

So big surprise! DeAnna Pappas dumped Jesse Cusincsak so basically their “love” burned out once the cameras went off.. just like all the other reality dating show couples. Has there been one yet that’s survived true “reality”?? I can only think of one. Trista and Ryan Sutter…

“DeAnna Pappas and fiancé Jesse Csincsak have called off their engagement, barely four months after the once-scorned Bachelor castoff tearfully and lovingly accepted the pro snowboarder’s proposal on the season finale of The Bachelorette“.

“I love you but I’m not in love with you”, Haha! OUCH! I can tell you right now that I’ve personally said that to a couple guys in my life but never to a man that I agreed to marry. You really should be sure on that small detail BEFORE you say “Yes, I will”…and didn’t she pick him? Maybe she’s trying to get some sweet revenge for being dumped on her first season.

DeAnna said..

“I really felt like I was going to spend the rest of my life with him,” Pappas told In Touch, who just gently broke the news to me over e-mail. “I thought he was my fairy-tale ending but after the show was over and we settled in to our normal lives, I slowly came to realize that we are two totally different people and it wasn’t going to work out.”

So basically she means once we started living in REALITY.

Mommy is No Rock Star

// September 12th, 2008 // 2 Comments » // For Geeks, Gaming, Ibdreamy, Parenting, Pictures, Update, WTF, Xbox

Has your kid ever made you feel old? Yah? Don’t lie. Anyway there’s this game you may of heard of called Guitar hero…well I suck at it and I mean bad. It’s got to be funny as hell watching me just trying to play it. I just can not think that fast or I can think that fast but my fingers will not compute what I’m seeing. So lame. Looks like a fun game too bad I can’t compute.
My son however kicked that games ass. He beat the whole game in two days and we’ve only had it a little over a week. He looks like he’s actually playing the guitar when he’s playing..it’s pretty cute. He’s 11..aww my rock star son. So, I don’t get to be cool gaming mama but that’s ok. I get to be proud gaming mama instead on this one at least. Give me any of the Final Fantasy games or any RPG for that matter and he’s asking me questions so it’s even I guess. He rocks at hand eye and I’m just magical! :X

My little Guitar Hero.. :)

Now this kid here is just nuts…he is the world record winner for Guitar Hero! Insane clip. Watch and be amazed.
