Check out TwitteReader, a new and free service which turns Twitter into something resembling Google Reader.
Once you’ve plugged in your username and password, it presents the latest tweets as individual feed items, which you can cruise through either by reading the short snippets (a la Google Reader) or expanding them out to full posts with a click.
Just like Google Reader and Gmail, you can move up and down the list with the same J and K keyboard shortcuts. You can also star items, which adds them to your Twitter favorites list. The application keeps track of what you’ve read and what you haven’t, which, depending on how many people you’re following, could be useful. If a system like Google Reader’s trends were to be applied to this you could see which people’s updates you’re not reading and cut them out of your followers list.
Of course the obvious must be stated here–you can simply take the RSS feed of your friends provided by Twitter and plug it into Google Reader to accomplish something quite similar. TwitteReader’s killer feature, however, is that it lets you post and reply to messages from each post, just like you would in Twitter.

Here you’ll find over 50 links to Wood, paper and concrete textures. I love when designers use the wood and paper texture in their designs. I was thinking cardboard might look cool too. Like a will work for food sign? Haha! There are some really great free textures available on Flickr.com and Deviantart.com and if your looking for more textures you also might want to check out some of the Digital Scrapbooking website which I recently discovered to be a great resource for designers. You have to kinda search for the free downloads though because most of them charge for their stuff. If your a graphic designer I would definitely look into this niche market as a way to make some extra money or possibly a living. There are a lot of bored women online it seems that are willing to buy the graphics they need to make a digital scrapbook.
Click the “Read More” Link for the rest of the Textures…and for some links to free scrapbooking pages that I personally found to offer the most free content.
Here are some of the most popular Twitter apps and tools. I love my twitter. I like twitter because I can keep in touch with all my friends and family all at once and I don’t have to send out 10 text messages a day, I can send out one or two twitter posts and I’m good to go. Everyone who says I never call them or write them has now heard from me and everyone is happy…including me. I Love it. Here’s a whole list of Mobile Twitter apps..@ Mashable.com
Why go to Twitter when Twitter can come to you? Twitbin’s a Firefox extension that nestles all your friends’ tweets into a sidebar. It’s configurable too, and the tiny ad at the bottom of the sidebar is something I can live with. BTW, it works just as well in Flock.
If you want to share what you’re listening to with the ease of Twitter, this is the browser plugin for you. It’s a sibling of the popular FoxyTunes extension, and supports dozens of players. This one appeals to the statisticians and the buzz crawlers. This charts the ‘zeitgeist’ of what’s being Tweeted about across the globe. You can even see comparisons of one key phrase versus another, and what day of the week key terms pop up most frequently. For instance, here’s one that compares beer and sex. Not surprisingly, beer starts getting popular around Friday.
Flotzam started life as Flitterbook, a showcase mash-up of Flickr, Facebook and Twitter data – developed by Karsten Januszewski and Tim Aidlin for MIX07. I wrote in a Live Journal for 7 years so I didn’t have much exposure to the whole trackback link concept or at least that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
Now I’m using word press to write my blog and I see “track back link” everywhere I turn and I wanted to know more about this little blogging mystery.
Asking myself that same question is basically how I came up with the domain name for this blog “DivaGeek“.
What is a diva geek anyway you might ask yourself..well let me explain..When your a girl it can be a little hard to be 100% geek 100% of the time because being a girl drives us to do girly things that true geeks wouldn’t get caught dead doing like going purse shopping, wearing pink lip gloss and if your a true Diva going to brunch and doing pilates.
I personally don’t do pilates or go to brunch but that’s just because I’m lazy and I eat breakfast… I do however LOVE pink lipgloss.
What I’m getting at is when your a girl in technology sometimes you just can’t fit into the mold of geek..we can’t help it if we’re a little diva and a little geek. I like to say I’m 25% diva and 75% geek or visa versa depending on my mood.
