WP Remix pushes Wordpress to the max with a little bit of everything!

You may have never heard of the theme, but WP Remix just might be the most innovative and unique toolkit for Wordpress you’ve ever seen. Unlike your other premium “buy and install” themes, WP Remix comes in a single package filled with 50 amazing and unique layouts for Wordpress — some of which you never thought possible…truly making it the closest thing to a CMS (content management system) Wordpress has ever seen.

Features Unique Only to WP Remix

Theme specific features that you won’t see elsewhere!
There’s no doubt that a lot of loving care was put into the creation of WP Remix. It actually has its own visual editor: once you install WP Remix, you’ll be able to visit a special control panel within your Wordpress administration area, in which you can fine tune individual pages of your WP Remix driven website. Here’s a feature list for WP Remix:

  • WYSIWYG editor: WP Remix has an expanded code editor. Drop in code that would otherwise have to be manually typed out!
  • Smart drop-down menus: Wordpress dropdowns usually suck - it’s true. To remedy this, WP Remix’s design team created dynamic drop-down menus that go multiple levels deep. The menus will remember what page you came from, and what page you’re currently on!

WPWebHost.com Review – Best Hosting for Wordpress!

// October 5th, 2009 // 3 Comments » // Blogging, Cool Links, Cool Websites, Featured, For Geeks, Hosting, I recommend, News, Useful, Wordpress, webmaster, wordpress tutorials

Good web hosting is one of the most important things that is overlooked by newbie bloggers. I know this because I made this mistake myself. Well, actually, by a stroke of luck, I turned out alright. Before I bought a yearly plan from my current web host, I hadn’t done any research into other providers at all. Six months later I now see that I could have saved money here and there for the same amount of services from other hosting companies, one of them being WPWebhost.com.

Now moving my website from one host to another isn’t easy. I just wish I would of thought of these things when I started my website. That’s why I’m here to point you in the right direction.

Does your web hosting company have a “face”? Do you know who the owners are? How good is your customer service at your current provider? WPWebhost.com is unique in that it’s unlike all the normal hosts out there. Instead of just being a static website with the only purpose being to sell you their services, WPWebhost.com a reliable hosting provider and a regularly-updated blog slapped into one.

WPWebHost

Specifications and Pricing

WPWebHost.com is one of the best web hosting providers that I’ve ever seen in terms of price. One of their simplest plans are as follows:

  • 50GB of web space
  • 500GB of monthly bandwidth
  • Host up to 50 domain names
  • WordPress-compatible server
  • WordPress-savvy support team
  • Only $5 a month ($60 a year!)

And here’s a list of their monthly, yearly, and bi-yearly plans:

  • Monthly Fee: $8/month
  • Annual Fee: $6.67/month ($80/year)
  • Bi-annual Fee: $5/month ($120/2 years) Best Value

One of the greatest things about WPWebhost.com is that they offer you a 100-day money-back guarantee! If you decide you don’t like their service for whatever reason after 3 months, you can get your money back and move on no strings attached! And in case you didn’t know, WPWebHost.com is built specifically to host Wordpress blogs and run them at their highest potential in terms of speed. Also, another unique feature that I’ve seen only with these guys is that when you sign up for any plan under them, you automatically receive a free copy of their premium Wordpress theme “Western”.

A gallery will display a set of thumbnail images attached to that post or page. If you upload images using the Add an Image icon, they will get attached automatically. If you upload images using the media library, you will need to attach it to a post or page before it will appear in a gallery.

Here is a video tutorial on how to add an image gallery to your blog post:

How to turn off post revision in wordpress and decrease database size.

// August 6th, 2009 // 2 Comments » // Blogging, Code, Design, For Geeks, Geeks, Wordpress, Wordpress Themes, wordpress tutorials

How to turn off post revision in wordpress and decrease database size.

delete_remove_turn_off_wordpress_post_revisionRevisions posts feature was introduced in wordpress 2.6 this feature turned on by default in 2.6+ versions. Revision posts create a lot of extra entries into your database and causes of database growing at very high speed.

So if you are worry about the size of your database or you don’t need hundreds or thousands of revisions posts in you database.

Here is the solution.

Open your wp-config.php into a text editor and add following lines into it.

define(’AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL’, 500 ); // seconds
define(’WP_POST_REVISIONS’, false );

This will increase the auto save time from 60 seconds to 500 seconds
and you will not get auto saved posts.

And if you want to delete already created revision posts from your database than go to your hosting control panel and open

PHPMyAdmin and run this SQL-query:

DELETE FROM wp_posts WHERE post_type = “revision”;

If you don’t want to edit your database there is a plugin Revision Control available for you.

Wordpress is a very powerful CMS (Content Management System). It has tons of capability and can be extremely powerful. There’s only one thing in the way from all of this power and you as the blog owner – your theme. Cybers Ebay Wordpress Plugin

Cybers Ebay Wordpress Plugin

The eBay Wordpress Plugin is finally available.

The eBay plugin is very simple but effective. Once installed you input your EbayNetwork Campaign number into the settings, and how many ads you want to appear on each post.

Place the code <?php cybersebay(); ?> within the Wordpress loop and you are set.

The first time you use the plugin you will add a Custom Field to your post with the Key name, ebay. And use the value to hold the keyword for this post to import eBay ads. From here on out, whenever you write a post, you can select the custom field key, ebay from the pulldown list and add the keyword you wish to show listings for.

Below is an example from another site. The article is titled “Fun Stocking Stuffers” and the keyword for eBay is “Christmas Stocking Stuffers”

Click for full size screenshot

During my testing of the plugin I received a $27 click, and that is certainly the highest valued click I have ever received !

And it is ONLY $9.95 !!

How to Customize your Feedburner Headline Animator

// February 16th, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Admin Tools, Blogging, Design, For Geeks, Geeks, I recommend, RSS Feeds, Tutorial, Useful, Wordpress, Wordpress Themes, free, web tools, webmaster, wordpress tutorials

A good way to promote your site is by using Feedburner for your RSS Feeds. One of their cooler features is their Headline Animator widget and if your anything like me and you love to design graphics then this can be a fun little project for you to add to your site.
For those of you who are not familiar with Feedburner..First you will have to register at Feedburner and burn your blog.
Once you’ve done that,  log into your account,  select your feed,  click on the “Publicize” tab and look for the Headline Animator service which is listed in the left-hand side bar.
Under “Theme” select “provide your own background” from the drop down list. Required (GIF only).

Create your graphic in Photoshop. I created a .gif that was 243px × 110px pixels and a 468×60px .gif.  (view them below)

Your Headline Animator will be the same size (height and width) as the background image. Play around with different shapes and sizes. Once you’ve uploaded the new graphic, feedburner allows you to drag and drop the animated text where it needs to be on the graphic and the length of the animated text box. You can also choose the text color of your font and the size. You don’t have a lot of control but you can play with it to make it look pretty cool if your creative. If you decide to make one..make sure to post your link here so we can all check out your creation.

If you have any questions or if you get stuck feel free to leave your questions here or check out Feedburner’s FAQ.
