Just days before the one-year anniversary of Heath Ledger’s death, colleagues of the actor — who won a posthumous Golden Globe on Sunday — remember him in an article published on Entertainment Weekly’s Web site Friday (January 16). Since the news broke that Ledger had suddenly died of an accidental overdose in his SoHo loft in New York City last January 22, relatively few friends and colleagues of the actor have spoken about it. Now, in the wake of the anniversary, they are sharing with Entertainment Weekly some of their fondest memories of the actor. Read entire article..

His gift for self-deprecating comedy and vulnerability on screen won Heath Ledger hearts.

Heath Ledger quote:
“I only do this because I’m having fun. The day I stop having fun, I’ll just walk away. I wasn’t going to have fun doing a teen movie again…. I don’t want to do this for the rest of my life….I don’t want to spend the rest of my youth doing this in this industry. There’s so much I want to discover.”

Heath Ledger – Loved and Warned

Jack Nicholson

told reporters outside the Wolseley restaurant in London last night that he had tried to warn Heath Ledger of the dangers of his lifestyle, and hinted that he had seen it coming. When Nicholson was informed that Heath Ledger had died, possibly of an overdose, he said, “That’s awful,” and added “I warned him.”

Nicole Kidman

“I am shocked and very saddened by the news. I deeply respected Heath’s work and always admired his continuing development as an artist. My thoughts are with his family and close friends.”

Cate Blanchett

“I think Tennyson got it right in the poem when he described someone as having died at a young age but burning the candles at both ends, and oh what a beautiful flame he made, that was Heath, what a beautiful flame he made and a great talent. My heart goes out to everyone in his family and my family. The saddest thing is his daughter whom he just loved

dearly.”

Actor Brad Renfro dies at 25

Actor Brad Renfro dies at 25

The cause of the actor’s death was not immediately known. Although an autopsy is planned for today or Thursday, results of a toxicology test to determine whether drugs were a factor in his death will take six to eight weeks.

The actor served 10 days in jail in May 2006 after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated and guilty to attempted possession of heroin.
The latter charge was related to his arrest in Los Angeles’ Skid Row area, when he tried to buy heroin from an undercover officer in 2005.
Other run-ins with the law included a 1998 charge of cocaine and marijuana possession, for which he avoided jail time in a plea deal.

He was also placed on probation in January 2001 and ordered to pay $4,000 for repairs to a 45-foot (13.7-meter) yacht he and a friend tried to steal in Florida. He was ordered into an alcohol rehabilitation program in March 2002 for violating his probation in the case.
He was arrested again in May 2001 and charged with underage drinking, which violated terms of his probation.

Renfro’s lawyer, Richard Kaplan, said he did not know whether the death was connected to any problems with addiction.

“He was working hard on his sobriety,” Kaplan said. “He was doing well. He was a nice person”.

Renfro recently completed a role in “The Informers,” a film adaptation of a Bret Easton Ellis novel that stars Winona Ryder, Brandon Routh and Billy Bob Thornton.

My guess is that he was drinking and then he used Opiates and this deadly mix killed him.

Some of his Movies include The Client, Apt Pupil, Bully, Sleepers, Tom and Huck, Deuces Wild..
