Today is the anniversary of Heath Ledgers death. Jan 22, 2008

Just days before the one-year anniversary of Heath Ledger’s death, colleagues of the actor — who won a posthumous Golden Globe on Sunday — remember him in an article published on Entertainment Weekly’s Web site Friday (January 16). Since the news broke that Ledger had suddenly died of an accidental overdose in his SoHo loft in New York City last January 22, relatively few friends and colleagues of the actor have spoken about it. Now, in the wake of the anniversary, they are sharing with Entertainment Weekly some of their fondest memories of the actor. Read entire article..

His gift for self-deprecating comedy and vulnerability on screen won Heath Ledger hearts.

Heath Ledger quote:
“I only do this because I’m having fun. The day I stop having fun, I’ll just walk away. I wasn’t going to have fun doing a teen movie again…. I don’t want to do this for the rest of my life….I don’t want to spend the rest of my youth doing this in this industry. There’s so much I want to discover.”

Farewell Cool Hand Luke – Actor Paul Newman dies at 83 – Picture Gallery Dedication

Actor Paul Newman dies at 83

The blue-eyed star of ‘The Hustler,’ ‘Cool Hand Luke’ and ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’ was at home. He had long battled cancer.

Stunningly handsome, Newman maintained his superstar status while keeping his distance from its corrupting influences through nearly 100 Broadway, television and movie roles. As an actor and director, he evolved into Hollywood’s elder statesman, admired off screen for his quiet generosity, unconventional business sense, race car daring, political activism and enduring marriage to actress Joanne Woodward.

Annoyed by the public’s fascination with his resemblance to a Roman statue and his Windex-blue eyes, Newman often chose offbeat character roles. In the 1960s, he helped define the American anti-hero and became identified with the charming misfits, cads and con men in film classics such as “The Hustler,” “Hud,” “Cool Hand Luke” and “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”
Paul Newmans dying wish was to die at home with his family and the ones he loved..his wish came true. Rest in Peace Paul — Say Hello to Marilyn Monroe!

My Indiana Jones 4 – Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Review

I went to see the new Indiana Jones 4 And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull movie last night at the Cinetopia with some of my friends from Dotster which included Mike, Chris R., Justin, Annie, Jason, Chelsea, Chris M. and me.

Spoiler warning…

Steven Spielberg is again directing, and George Lucas producing..so that basically explains why things were done the way they were done..it was what I might call a mash up of Indiana Jones, E.T and Star Wars.

Huh? You might ask yourself..yeah well so did I.

The CGI in some parts of the movie were not up to par in comparison..like some of the effects were just corny while others were amazing!! Also parts of the storyline didn’t really match up or make sense or were never explained at all.

Lets put it this way.. it was just not at all what I expected of Indiana Jones and I was not alone in my opinion. I mean WTF? What in the hell was up with the aliens? I mean the CGI aliens were amazing and the last scene of the movie was way cool if it was supposed to be a sci-fi movie but this was Indiana Jones not E.T. so the whole alien concept just kinda ruined it for me! However after all my complaining..I thought it was worth watching and I had a blast going to the movies..we were taking shots of Captain Morgans and Root Bear like high school kids in my mini-van in the parking lot before the movie..I have tinted windows. We went to the late late show..it got out at 1am! We had fun. Cate Blanchet looked amazing as usual and played a perfect villain!
