Mommy is No Rock Star

// September 12th, 2008 // 2 Comments » // For Geeks, Gaming, Ibdreamy, Parenting, Pictures, Update, WTF, Xbox

Has your kid ever made you feel old? Yah? Don’t lie. Anyway there’s this game you may of heard of called Guitar hero…well I suck at it and I mean bad. It’s got to be funny as hell watching me just trying to play it. I just can not think that fast or I can think that fast but my fingers will not compute what I’m seeing. So lame. Looks like a fun game too bad I can’t compute.
My son however kicked that games ass. He beat the whole game in two days and we’ve only had it a little over a week. He looks like he’s actually playing the guitar when he’s playing..it’s pretty cute. He’s 11..aww my rock star son. So, I don’t get to be cool gaming mama but that’s ok. I get to be proud gaming mama instead on this one at least. Give me any of the Final Fantasy games or any RPG for that matter and he’s asking me questions so it’s even I guess. He rocks at hand eye and I’m just magical! :X

My little Guitar Hero.. :)

Now this kid here is just nuts…he is the world record winner for Guitar Hero! Insane clip. Watch and be amazed.

One Bored Gamer Girl – Star Wars 2008

// August 20th, 2008 // 2 Comments » // For Geeks, Gaming, Geeks, I recommend, Ibdreamy, Ipod, PS3, Pictures, Videos, Xbox

I’m so bored with the video game selection that’s out right now. I’ve either played it or I don’t want to play it. My all time favorite games are , Silent Hill , , , (wallpaper), Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion…etc.

Basically think of any good fantasy-based, role-playing adventure game and I’ve played it. Has anyone played Dark Sector yet? I’m just curious if it’s any good..I haven’t heard much about it yet but it’s one of the last games at Blockbuster for PS3 that I haven’t rented yet..they have a crappy selection but their actually getting a tad better lately. Lame thing is they got rid of all their older games so if I wanted to rent Silent Hill 2 or SSX Tricky..I couldn’t..Blockbuster won’t carry older games anymore.
Anyway, there are a few games that are coming out soon that I’m excited about..

Silent Hill: Homecoming marks the sixth story in the Silent Hill mythos, and introduces a new protagonist to the mysterious town.The story follows Alex Shepherd, returning to his hometown of Shepherd’s Glen to investigate the sudden disappearance of his brother and the strange occurrences taking place around town. Shepherd unravels a tale that takes him from his boyhood home to the fog-shrouded streets of Silent Hill, facing the darkest horrors of his soul to find his missing brother.

OMG! Creepy as hell! The sound effects in Silent Hill have always creeped me out big time. I can’t play in the dark.

Flash Game – Dust by Dan-Ball

// July 8th, 2008 // 2 Comments » // For Geeks, Freeware, Funny, Gaming

This is a flash game that is so addictive..it’s a
little strange at first but once you understand the concept it’s a
blast. It’s not a game so much as a psychedelic creation. Please check
it out with one of your kids or friends. My daughter me and my Mom
played with it together and totally loved it.

I’ve decided…If you don’t at least try this game once then we can’t be friends and that in itself could ruin your social life.
It’s not like all the rest..try it and report back what you think.

Seems like everyone is afraid to comment on this blog but no one has that problem on my live journal where I post the exact same posts. So if your reading this then you need to comment damn it..!

Lost Odyssey: When the Father of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, started Mistwalker studio with backing from Microsoft, the RPG-starved Xbox masses began to salivate. So far, Mistwalker has given us the disappointing Blue Dragon. But there’s a chance at salvation with the more traditional Lost Odyssey, the game arrived in North America on February 12. Ten hours in and one disc (of four) down, there’s reason to hold out hope for Mistwalker’s latest

Lost Odyssey has been labeled a “Final Fantasy” game since it was first conceived. For better or worse, that’s fairly accurate. Throw in some chocobos and Bahamut and you’d have a Final Fantasy game… Full Review

My boyfriend bought me Lost Odyssey tonight for Valentines day. I’ve had a deposit on it for a month. I’m so excited to play it because I’ve been waiting for a new RPG and if it is anything like Final Fantasy (my favorite games) then I’ll be one happy gamer girl. I bought the PS3 recently in hopes that they would come out with more RPG’s which is kind of ironic now that Lost Odyssey came out only on Xbox 360. I’m so sick of playing all the first person shooter games that flood the Xbox 360 game list.
*crosses fingers*
Ok, I’m gonna go open it up and pop it in. I hope it’s as good as I think it’s gonna be.

Tattooed Geeks

Submit to gametaggr!

I have a large collection of geek and gamer tattoo pictures that I’ve found online. Mostly at bmeink.com and bmezine.com. I have them all saved in my Fotki Gallery.

I personally only have two small tattoos but my boyfriend has 9 of them and his are not small. Mostly on his legs. His best friend is a professional tattoo artist so he gets his work done for free which doesn’t help because when Roy gets a random idea for a tattoo.. there’s not that normal amount of time to actually think it through and lately it seems like it’s been a weekly thing.. soon I might just have to do an intervention and check him into tattoo addiction treatment.
He also has his ears stretch which I tell him is cool now but when he’s 90 that’s not going too look so hot anymore. *)

I plan on getting another tattoo though and I’ve been thinking about getting either some kind of anime or pinup girl. Not sure yet. I also love stars. I want something simple. Black and white. I really like writing for some reason..I even like the bar code tat but it’s become a little too trendy for me. I’ve been looking around online for ideas and that’s kinda how I ended up with a whole gallery of gamer tats. I can’t believe how popular Mario bro’s is for the geek…yeah I get it… the game is a classic but I think it’s kinda getting played out..check out the gallery..

PlayStation 3 Rumors – Ditching the 80GB for a 120GB and minus backwards compatibility?

// February 2nd, 2008 // No Comments » // For Geeks, Gaming, PS3, Xbox

Ceramic white PS3 from Japan
The elusive Ceramic White PS3

There have been rumors claiming that there’s going to be a ceramic white PS3 unveiled in North America to follow the one that’s already in Japan. Filings with the FCC have even shown pictures of the alleged PlayStation 3. Sony denies these rumors.

Another day, another PS3 rumor…Last week, an alleged Best Buy memo revealed that the 80GB PS3 would be discontinued and “This means that there currently isn’t a version that is PS2-compatible,” the memo points out, before ending with the news that Sony has not yet made any announcements about new products. Sony has been faced with lagging sales of the 80GB PlayStation 3 so this is not surprising news to me and it’s been said they’ll focus instead on finding a real competitor for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 new Elite model.

Arstechnica reports today that their “mole” has infromed them that 80GB PS3 is indeed dead and that Sony will soon offer a 120-160GB with a Dual Shock 3 controller for the same price, $499.

I just purchased my PS3 80GB so if Sony is going to offer a 120 gig for the same price.. that does not make me happy but if they’re gonna ditch the backwards compatability…all I can think is “Thank God I got it when I did” because the only reason I spent the extra $100 bucks was for the backwards compatability that was missing with my Xbox 360 and most of my old Xbox games.

A Sony representative told Wired via e-mail that, “I caught up with all of the posts and news last night, and as you know, we don’t comment on rumors and speculation.” The media speculates that Sony will keep mum on this one until February’s Game Developers’ Conference.

My Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death story and new info!

// January 22nd, 2008 // No Comments » // Gaming, News, Update, Xbox

Most Xbox 360 owners are probably well aware of the term “red ring of death” either because they’ve actually experienced it or they have a friend who has.

It took my first Xbox 360 four whole months to die on me. I was sitting there minding my own business playing Oblivion and all of a sudden I hear this LOUD knocking and then a very loud Bang..red ring of death..and when I use caps for LOUD I’m not just trying to be dramatic it sounded like all the insides of my system were about to come flying through the box. It scared the crap out of me and then when I realized what happened I just wanted to cry. I was just at a good part in my game. Damn it!

So I called Xbox Support most likely somewhere in Bangalore, India. Super Fantastic! He was hard to understand and useless. I asked him where his call center was located and he told me that he could not give me that information? Why? I really wish US companies would hire people in the US. It boils my blood especially since I work in Tech Support.

So, anyway he told me they would be sending me a coffin for my Xbox and that it would be replaced free of charge. Aren’t I lucky!

It took a long hate filled 6 weeks until I received my new “refurbished” Xbox. Oh and I forgot to take out my Oblivion game like an idiot and so I lost my game.
It cost me 60 bucks (for the game) and 6 weeks of no gaming.

A few months later Xbox actually changed to a three year warranty or should I say they were forced to change because their system is crap and was released and shipped before they had a stable product.
