Tech Support Hell – Mailing List Lady

This is just a small example of what we deal with working in the exciting world of tech support. This is a message some random lady left on the answer machine at one of my previous tech support jobs. I won’t say where to protect the innocent but I will say in their defense that all promotional emails had an opt-out link at the bottom so it really wasn’t as complicated as this lady made it out to be.
Get a life lady.
TURN DOWN YOUR VOLUME..SHE’S LOUD & DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS AT WORK..EXTREME USE OF PROFANITY!
Tip #1: Most promotional or Spammy emails have an opt-out link at the bottom of the email if their sent from a legitimate company.
Tip #2: Create a free email account at yahoo.com or gmail.com and use it when signing up for things your not 100% sure of for example promotions or free offers. This will help to cut back on spam in your personal inbox.
Tip #3: Watch what your checking when you sign up for something..if it says “YES, I want to be contacted by select third parties concerning products I might be interested in blah blah”..your signing up for spam. Pay attention.
Tip#4: Never add your email address to a forum or newsgroup or your website. There are programs that search through the net looking for email addresses. If you must add your email address, add it to an image…like so..

Tip#5: Never call your tech support and yell at them..more likely they will only help you less not more. Being rude will get you no where.

She needs to have a cup of tea and a nice sit down
Yeah that’s a nice way to put it..I think she needs something a little stronger then tea. She’s a raving lunatic but unfortunately, she’s hardly unique. We just had the pleasure of capturing her on tape. I had to edit out her email address which was a bummer because it was classic the way she tried to yell and spell at the same time. I’m not sure if people assume they’ll get their point across better if they’re really loud but it sure seems like it. Thanx for the comment.
haha. I got this on my ipod now.
